Great Commission Society

The purpose of the Great Commission Society of the NALC is to mobilize disciples for the work of the Great Commission. Our mission is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a world that is in desperate need of the Good News. We propose to do this by networking congregations and individuals who have a passion for the proclamation of the Gospel and a commitment to the calling of the Great Commission.

“And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

– Matthew 28:18-20 ESV

The Great Commission Society provides short-term grants in order to produce long-term change. By partnering with the Great Commission Society, you are helping to provide transitional support, emergency aid, and startup funds for ministries and new mission starts.

It’s been such a blessing to watch the NALC’s new mission starts and global projects grow. Each year we’re adding new global workers, supporting new ministries and watching congregations form and renew. This is all a result of your Mission-Driven efforts. By partnering with the Great Commission Society, for even as little as $10 a month, you are supporting these Mission-Driven efforts in the future. 100% of your pledge to the Great Commission Society goes directly to these mission projects.

The NALC vision calls for every congregation, small or large, to have an active, intentional relationship supporting a local community ministry, one of the NALC mission congregations in North America and one global mission.

Take some time to read about global workers, congregations and projects that are seeking support. Consider adopting a ministry, worker or project and commit to support the work they are doing.
